Fact Sheet My name is Mel Ginsberg-Stevens, and I perform as NeidFyre. Originally from Smithtown, Long Island, I moved to Upstate NY in 1988. I've played the violin for nearly 30 years and have been singing for as long as I can remember. I am classically trained but have expanded my range to include Celtic, Russian folk, Gypsy fiddle, Breton, and English Country dance tunes.

 

I'm a solo artist and have performed at many faires and festivals including the Hudson Valley Mayfaire, the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, the Maryland Renaissance Faire, the Sterling Renaissance Faire, the Syracuse Irish Festival, the Virginia Renaissance Faire, the Vermont Renaissance Faire, and the Wicked Winter festival. I also enjoy playing smaller venues, and have performed at local coffee houses, assisted living care facilities, weddings, and private events in the Upstate NY area. I have released four CD's; Duck Feet Waddling (2003), Spark of Twilight (2003), Waddles from the Sea (2006) and Adeste Anatinae (2006). All of my CD's, minus Adeste Anatinae, focus on traditional Celtic and Renaissance music. Waddles from the Sea has a bit of Russian . Adeste Anatinae is my holiday CD. I have a compilation CD called FAVOURITES, available for a limited time only. I hope to go back into the studio in 2010 to record my next CD.

A solo artist with international flair, NeidFyre serenades with Scottish, Irish, English and Russian folk songs. A Long Island transplant to Upstate, NY, NeidFyre plays traditional tunes on fiddle, sings with a genuine passion. She infuses vivacity and sheer joy in her love of music. NeidFyre performs primarily on the East Coast, and can be seen at Celtic festivals, coffee houses, conventions, and anywhere Celtic and folk music is heard.
